Jax

June 2011 - October 31, 2024

Jax was born in Shamatawa, Manitoba in June of 2011. Some kind soul(s) brought him and the rest of his litter to the Winnipeg Humane Society where they received medical treatment for issues developed while in Shamatawa.

Jax was adopted out to a family in Winnipeg who returned him a few months later as he was “hard to deal with”. We came along and adopted Jax when he was 9 months old as we thought that he seemed like a great dog and that he had a lot of offer. Best decision ever.

Jax had a great 12+ years with us growing old with our family and being both a great friend and fierce protector of us all. He really enjoyed going to the lake out by Minaki, Ontario each summer and his boat rides. He kept us company during both family issues like grandparents passing on and throughout the lockdowns. Loyal companion doesn’t seem like enough to say.

Jax passed away peacefully in Steinbach on October 31, 2024 surrounded by his family. He will be missed dearly but rejoins his old posse of furry friends who have passed away in recent years. Jax considered the cats (Magenta and Tiger) to be his friends even if they didn’t necessarily agree.

We’d like to thank the Winnipeg Humane Society, Fort Garry Veterinary, Anderson Animal Hospital, Waldenway Canine and Kitty Camp and Pet Vet for the care they provided Jax over the years. The dog no one wanted until we came along had a good long life.
